Guide to properly drawing mermaids Pg.1

Description

This is my first drawing in a series on how to properly draw mermaid characters for illustrations, video games, etc.

This deals with the length of the mermaid's tail and how big or small her fins should be. As you can see, the ones with the symbol that you see on "No Smoking" signs is there to me that it is not a good way to go. The one with the check by it is that right way to go. You'll see this ALOT in upcoming images. lol

The mermaid's tail should be about the same length as the measurement between a woman's hips/waist and her toes. it's alright to maker her tail a little longer if you want, but don't go overboard and maker her tail all super long and serpentine-like. Make her tail to small....well, it just doesn't look right....

Her fins can be just about any size and width, as long as they aren't small than a pair of hands or as big as a garage door. LOL

P.S. I'm actually very proud of how I drew that long mermaid's tail. ROFL!^_^
